Faculty and Staff
We have an outstanding staff that will include teachers, chaperones, camp director, camp nurse, and several other people. The goal of all staff members is to provide students with a fun, positive, and safe learning experience that will increase the student's excitement for music. The faculty is subject to change based on student registration.
Dr.
Peter Haberman - Orchestra Leader
Dr. Haberman is the director of bands
and an associate professor of music at UW-Eau Claire. He is music director
for the Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony and has several years of experience
working with middle and high school music students.
Dr. Haberman is an active trumpet performer and is a member of the UWEC
Faculty Brass Quintet. Dr. Haberman has helped organize music camps in the
past and is looking forward to participating at the Summer Ensemble Camp.
Molly Nordin - Violin
Molly is the orchestra teacher at Chippewa Falls
Middle and High School. She has many years of experience teaching students
and she is also a member of the Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra.
Dale Young - Violin
Dale is a founding member of the CVSO, was the concertmaster of the orchestra for 30 years, and now is a member of the Violin 1 section, sharing a stand with his son, Jack.
Susan Halderman - Cello
Susan is a former public school orchestra
teacher who taught in Mississippi and South Carolina. She has her own private
studio, "The Cello Connection," and she is an active member of
many different ensembles including the CVSO and the Chippewa Valley String
Quartet.
Dave Mueller - Brass
Dave is a retired teacher and veteran
trumpeter with experience working with many types of ensembles including
band and jazz ensembles.
John Utphall - Fiddling Class
John is a local musician who will be
joining camp specifically to teach fiddling. His name is synonymous in the
Chippewa Valley with fiddling.
Pat Lange - Camp Nurse
Pat is an RN, a member of the CVSO's
Education Committee and a strong supporter of the arts in education. Pat
loves classical music and is very pleased that she can support Summer Ensemble
Camp by providing her healthcare expertise.
Bill Eisenbarth - Camp Director
Bill is a retired orchestra director
from the Eau Claire Area School District and is one of the founding members
of the CVSO. Bill has felt the need for an orchestral summer camp in the
Chippewa Valley for years and has volunteered countless hours of his time
to bring Summer Ensemble Camp to fruition. Bill is an accomplished violist
and member of the CVSO.
A very special thanks to the CVSO Education Committee who volunteered their
time and energy to make Summer Ensemble Camp possible: Bill, Pat L., Pat
T., Jennifer, Terry, Dale, Mike, Susan, and Peter.
