EDUCATION PROGRAMS

The Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra offers a variety of programs and resources to support young musicians and students in their pursuit of the arts.
In addition to its concerts, The CVSO nurtures an active commitment to arts education and outreach in our community. In early spring, through our Symphony in our Schools Program, the Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra provides demonstrations for local 3rd grade music classrooms to help youth learn about  instruments and garner a love for music.  Each student that participates in this program receives a voucher for two free tickets to our youth concert, and can purchase additional tickets for the special youth price of $7 so the whole family can participate.  For 2017-18, we are hoping to expand to 4th grade!

Then it's all about youth during the month of February at the CVSO. In collaboration with the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire and Kristo Orthodontics we bring you the Kristo Orthodontics Young Artist Competition. Young musicians compete for a chance to perform with the CVSO during our February concert and along with this we display the work of several local students at the Janet Carson Gallery.

In the past, we've held a Poster Contest where local youth were given the opportunity to submit art for any of our five concert posters. If selected they received a cash prize and their art was used in the design of our poster for that concert.
