KRISTO ORTHODONTICS YOUNG ARTIST COMPETITION

This unique experience offers young musicians the opportunity to expand their horizons and supports them in their pursuit of musical excellence.

Thank you to all of the fantastic artists who auditioned and performed in this years competition! It was a genuine pleasure to see all of the amazing young talent in our community. If you didn't place first this year, we look forward to hearing from you again in next year's Kristo Orthodontics Young Artist Competition!


Kristo Orthodontics Young Artist Competition is a cooperative effort of the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire Department of Music, Kristo Orthodontics Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony, and the Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra. Students, ages 14 – 18, are invited to enter by submitting an 8 to 16 minute performance recording of a movement of a Concerto or an Aria of similar difficulty. Finalists perform in a live competition at the University’s Haas Fine arts Center.  

The 2019 winner, Antonio Wu, receives $1,300 and a performance with the Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra at the February 2nd, 2019 concert at Pablo Center at the Confluence in downtown Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

1st Runner Up - $300 • 2nd Runner Up - $200
3rd and 4th  Runner Up - $100
