KRISTO ORTHODONTICS YOUNG ARTIST COMPETITION
This unique experience offers young musicians the opportunity to expand their horizons and supports them in their pursuit of musical excellence.
Kristo Orthodontics Young Artist Competition is a cooperative effort of the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire Department of Music, Kristo Orthodontics and the Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra. Students, ages 14 – 18, are invited to enter by submitting a performance recording. Finalists perform in a live competition at the University’s Haas Fine arts Center.
The finals were held on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at 2:00 p.m.
Our winner received $1300 and a performance with the Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra at their February 11th, 2017 concert at the State Theatre, downtown Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
1st Runner Up - $300 • 2nd Runner Up - $200
3rd and 4th Runner Up - $100
Emily Hauer is a home-schooled 9th grade student from Appleton, Wisconsin. She has studied violin for twelve years through the Lawrence Academy of Music, and for the past seven years she has studied with Dr. Samantha George, Associate Professor of Violin at Lawrence University.
