EVENT DETAILS
This short performance is welcoming to patrons of all ages with sensory sensitivities, young children, and others who appreciate an informal concert environment. Come as you are, be yourself, and enjoy Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf, narrated by Annie Jackson!
General admission. Tickets: $5 including fees.
Each area third grader and their accompanying adult receive free admission.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE RELAXED CONCERT
The Relaxed Concert is designed to be a welcoming and inclusive environment. You can expect:
Dimmed house lights rather than complete darkness
General admission seating so patrons can choose a spot they feel comfortable
Freedom to talk, move around, and exit/re-enter the theatre during the concert
Ear plugs, sunglasses, and space for personal sensory supports
A designated quiet break room
A short concert length (around 35 minutes)
LOBBY ACTIVITIES
There will be family-friendly activities in the lobby before and after the performance! The lobby doors open at 9:30 AM.
9:30 AM - Opening of the Music Moves Me student art exhibit in the Brady and Jeanne Foust Gallery
9:30 AM - ARTmobile hands-on activities in the lobby
9:45 AM - Story time with the Family Resource Center
10:00 AM - Lobby concert by members of the Memorial High School Orchestra
After the concert - Try out an instrument at our instrument “petting zoo”
