CVSO Opens Search for Next Conductor and Music Director

The Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra is beginning the search for its next artistic leader!

With Maestro Nobuyoshi Yasuda concluding his remarkable 33-year tenure this spring, CVSO is seeking a new Conductor and Music Director to step onto the podium in June 2027. This position will guide the orchestra into its next era of excellence, working with approximately 100 local musicians to present five concerts each season, including classical, pops, and an educational concert series.

Our motto — “music you love by people you know” — reflects the strong bond CVSO has built with the Chippewa Valley since its founding in 1975. The next Conductor and Music Director will play a central role in continuing this tradition, while inspiring musicians, connecting with audiences, and engaging with our vibrant community.

The position description, candidate profile, and application details can be found here. Applications are due by November 1, 2025, for priority consideration, though they will be accepted until the position is filled.
